Unix Shell Scripting And Unix Basic Knowledge
      #702322 - 03/23/12 12:53 AM

Hello Friends, One of my trainer told me that for Automation Testing, we just require the basic knowledge of Unix OS. Someone other told me that you should be good at Unix Shell Scripting. Means good knowledge, how we create function and other things in Unix Shell scripting.
So please tell me for Automation Testing,at what extent I should learn Unix Shell scripting.

Thanks & Regards,
Robin Tyagi

This will depend alot on the company.

But some common tasks you'll see in many companies are...

Monitoring a process
Installing/Uninstalling packages
Motitoring a log files
Searching for files
Creating build scripts
