I am using QTP 11 with patch 00709 on a Windows 7 64bit PC. When using QTP against IE9 an "Internet Explorer has stopped working" error is returned. This happens even when using the Object Spy on an open browser. This often locks the entire PC requiring a forced restart.
I have tried loading different QTP add-ins, including only the WEB add-in, but the results are the same.
IE8 on the same machine works without problem, but I cannot get QTP to work with IE9.
I have seen online other people have seen this error when the WPF add-in is loaded, however I still get it with this add-in turned off.
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get QTP to work with IE9?

Try turning off the Silverlight add in in IE9. It was giving me issues.
Also make sure HP add in is turned on in IE9.

But this is a new patch to provide Support for 64-bit IE Browsers.
Refer here for all patches.
