QTP can’t recognize “FlexTextArea” object
      #689723 - 10/26/11 10:47 PM

Hi
Below is my script.
Browser("FlexApp").FlexApplication("app").FlexObject("UMG.swf").FlexObject("loginView").FlexObject("index:0").Click
Browser("FlexApp").FlexApplication("app").FlexObject("UMG.swf").FlexObject("loginView").FlexObject("Login").Click

I am working testing Flex application, and my QTP version is 11.0.
This script is a login on flex page. But when I record flex script it can’t record user name and password.
Can you help me point to what I need to do?

I just record my flex application login on page. But QTP can't write the user name text input and password text input script.
So the script is so little.

If am to understand what u are telling correctly set text part is not working nor is it getting recorded i.e. there is no set text for flex object.

If that is the case then how about using set focus to get focus on field and then using Wshell object to simulate keyboard operation and type in the text.

If set focus is also not working then i guess that you would have to go with sending in Tab from Wshell.

But that would not be a good way of doing things.

Thanks for your reply.
I attached my flex application login on screenshot.
I'm sorry I don't understand your comment.

ok. Sorry. Looks like my understanding was wrong. What i understood was that below line was used for setting focus on the Username but SetText on username was not getting recorded.

Browser("FlexApp").FlexApplication("app").FlexObject("UMG.swf").FlexObject("loginView").FlexObject("index:0")

As ganesh said could you attach the screen shot for Spy by spying on Username and pwd.

What i was trying to say was that if SetText was not working you could try simulating keyboard Operation by using Send Keys.

Function EnterText(Text)
Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell")
WshShell.AppActivate "<App>":wait(2) ' Activate the browser window
WshShell.SendKeys Text: wait(2)
End Function

Check the section "General troubleshooting" in the below doc.

http://help.adobe.com/en_US/flex/testingqtp/flex_4.5_testingqtp.pdf

Referring 'Recording events', I suggest you talk to the developer.

Thanks guys.
This issue had been resolved. The flex plug-in version result in this issue. Our system is developed by flex 4.5 and I use flex 4.0 plugin, so can't recognize some object.
