Excel Macro to launch Results.QTP file using OTA
      #670646 - 05/06/11 04:33 PM

Problem:
Create an excel macro, wherein the SME can click on a Test ID and instantly launch the QTP Report for a specific test run from Excel without ever having to go to QC and running complicated filters and finding the test and finding the specific run.

Possible Solution:
Create Quick Test Application object -> Launch QTP -> Connect to QC through OTA -> Filter Run Factory to find specific run -> Get Path of results.qtp file using the RN_PATH field and appending it with "\Report\Results.qtp" to get the specific results file -> Open Results file

Question:
What I'm unable to do here is get QTP to open that file. I can physically access that file location and double click on the file and QTReport.exe opens it up for me. But how do I get the Quick Test Application object to do it for me automatically?

I'd greatly appreciate any effort to get me unstuck! Thank you very much.

[QTP 9.5, QC 9.2, Excel 2007]

Come on guys! Anyone?
Okay, lets try something simpler.

Is there an automation object for the HP Run Results Viewer or is there a way to code one up?.

I feel like I'm super close to the solution IF a solution exists. Thank you for any input you could provide.
