Hi Lordrt,

Here's a link to my paper "QA and the Software Development Life Cycle." It provides a basic overview of exactly what QA activities should be happening at exactly what stage of the SDLC.

Hope it helps.

Have you tried Google? This is pretty broad, there is a lot of material out there in articles, blogs and so forth. I'm sure a good search will bring you up something that should help you out, if you find any good sources add them back here for the next fellow.

Hi again, here's the question which in fact I need to answer as part of my report:

"how do you integrate the Quality Assurance function into the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) in a way that is effective and efficient, acceptable to both customers and developers, and that doesnt adversely affect the project budget and schedule?"

Is this an assignment for school? How detailed do you want for an answer, 20 years experience? There are massive books on the subject, veritable tomes that give answers. Read one and it will tell you an approach, read two and you will likely have two contradictory approaches.

Given the research you no doubt have done, what have you found to date?

One word - Agile.

Or Scrum.

Take your pick, what you are looking for is being able to implement QA resources into a framework where you have lots of rapid development, communcation and access to both Developers and Customers. That's what this says to me, your mileage may differ.

- I use Chrome
- I highlighted the following words in your question "integrate the Quality Assurance function into the Software Development Life Cycle"
- I right-click
- I select Search Google for "integrate the Quality Assurance function into ..."

Ta-da!

It would seem that the answer would depend on the development methodology your organization follows. How this would happen at an organization that follows a waterfall process would differ somewhat than how it would happen at an agile organization. Without having that context, it would seem your thoughts will tend to have to be high level and not very specific or contextual.
