Batch Testing and Batch Process
      #418255 - 09/21/07 10:20 AM

Hi All,

In one of our projects we use to execute queries on aix servers and change the states of transaction using putty. In the project they use to term this process as batch process.

So i would like to know what is the difference between Batch Process and Batch Testing.

Regards

Hmmm....

Batch Testing could mean:
1. Testing (verifying or validating) batch processes, or
2. running batches of tests.

I would put $$ on 1.

What do you think the differences might be?

I am with Jake and will put my on 1 as well ... compare it with functional testing. what do you mean by functional testing, functionality of application under test is proper. Similarly batch testing might mean batch process under question is working as intended.. You can validate / verify that batch process used to accomplish certain task is proper and call it batch testing if you like On the side note, why do you need a different term? I think functional testing of batch process might do just fine.
