Hi,
I would like to know if there is any scientific method to estimate the number of test cases required for a batch test, in terms of the number of fields changed. I understand that a common estimation is (FP)^1.2. But in the case of a complex feed batch process, where a few fields are getting updated, is there a way to estimate the number of test cases required?
For example if there is a batch interface which has 20 fields, out of which 18 are changed, then how do we arrive at the number of test cases to be written for this?
Thanks, Bhaargavi

The thread in Functional testing has been deleted.
Bhaargavi,
You might want to browse the Estimation and Planning forum, there are some formula and discussions on estimating # of test cases.
