ITSM Masters
      #337929 - 10/29/06 09:32 PM

I have completed ITSM foundation certification. Can someone advise me as to what would one be able to do if ITSM masters certification is done. I mean what capabilities and expertise would this course and certification bring to an individual and what kind of job profiles would one be able to perform.

You'd still need to pass the interview. Certification just give you another tool on your belt. To be a qualified tester, you need both soft & technical skills.

Hi,

I am not interested in testing field but would prefer consulting and auditing fields. Thanks for your response though. It would be nice if someone sheds light on above in ITSM.

Then SQAForums.com is probably not the best place to be asking the question.

Your ITSM course instructors or exam proctors should be able to shed some light on how you can best utilize that particular certification. Write to them. Find out how they use the certification. I am assuming they are ITSM certified as well.

I'm curious, (and do not intend to be unkind in any way by asking this question) why did you enroll in this course when you did not have a clear vision of how it will enhance your career?

Thanks for this qualifying information but then auditing is part of QA, which is my area of interest.

I suggest that the forum caption "The online community for software testing & quality assurance professionals" be modified to convey that this forum is exclusively for testing within quality.

In many companies the QA people have to have some experience on the QC side and they deal as much in process and process improvement as audit. QA jobs are much rarer than testing and in the companies I have worked I have never seen an entry level in the team except when a QC person has shown aptitude and has been moved internally.

In the US the implications of Consulting and Audit is not QA work but the type of work done by outside auditors for such companies as Price Waterhouse.

Akhilesh,

This forum does include classic QA discussions. You may find some interesting ideas in this group of forums under the Quality Engineering group.

Perhaps exploration of the following may give you some ideas about what to do:
