Capturing dynamic value
      #718842 - 10/27/12 01:59 AM

Hi

I am recording a script for .Net application. below are steps I am following.

1. logged into the application
2.click on 2nd page, fill some text boxes and save the data.
3.Logout.

The problem is based on the login credentials second page populated with the user details like name and his few of the details. using parameterization I am able to login with different users. but the second page is not populated with current login user details, It is populating recorded time user details. I wanted to get each time the logged user details in the second page and data has to save against logged in user.

I have added cookie manager, still problem is same. I am unable to find the dynamic value passed to the request where it is showing logged in user details in the second page.

If any body have come across this situation please help me.

Thanks in advance!!

Regards,
Sreedhar G

I don't understand what you're trying to say, but I think the problem is common and solvable.

If you give some examples, such as the value you want to capture, what you're using to capture, what is being captured, your script's test hierarch and the source, I think you'll get a lot more useful help.

Hi

Check _Viewstate & _Eventvalidation parameters. you can find these in parameters TAB of http request.

you need to extract these from the response of Login page POST request. Use Regular Expression Extractor for this.

Then use these values in subsequent POST request.

As 'link' mentioned this problem is common. you are missing some parameter (apart from username & password)that is different for different users. If you are unable to figure it out, take the help of developer. He may help you to identify such parameter.
