Object not found error
      #717224 - 10/01/12 03:21 AM

Hi friends

In my application , by clicking the save button, the dialog prompts a message with OK button. While recording 'the OK button' got recorded and shows 'text_ok().click(atpoint(11,8));'. But during play back it shows me a 'Object not found' error.
Recently updated the RFT Version 8.2.2.1 after this only this issue is seen.
Can anyone say me how to solve this problem or any coding in java.

My regression is waiting due to this, your help is highly appreciable.
Thanks in Advance.

Hi,

Have you tried running your script in debug mode to see if it will work properly? It could be a timing issue, with the script attempting to click on the button, before said button is actually displayed.

You could also tell the script to wait for the button, as in:
text_ok().waitforexistence();

Have a good day,

Andr

What i can suggest is
After u click the save button u get the "message window with OK button"
What you can do is capture the top level object I mean the message window
after u click the save button say
if(MessageWindow.exists()){
//If u press enter in this screen and it hits screen this will work
IWindow activeWindow = getScreen().getActiveWindow();
activeWindow.inputKeys("{ENTER}");

}

or u can try
if(MessageWindow.exists()){
click(MessageWindow,"OK").click();

}

public static GuiTestObject click(TopLevelSubitemTestObject window,String string ) {

TestObject[] to = window.find(atDescendant(".class", "Edit",".text",string));
if(to.length<1)
{
to = window.find(atDescendant(".class", "Button",".text",string));
}
return(new GuiTestObject(to[0]));

}

plz let me know if this will help
