Hi Azeezuddin,

You can try using an approach similar to those described in my first post in this thread.

Hi Mike,

I've gone through your Thread...

It does not workout for me.. Our's is an Outlook Addin. Once we install our application we get extra addins in outlook. I am using Outlook 2010.

I've tried the following code to capture the tooltip of the options which we get after installing our application.

Call LaunchAnItem("Outlook") //Here Outlook will be launched
Set o = NameMapping.Sys.OUTLOOK.OutlookUI.WSPPane.TreeView.ztreeViewControl.radTreeView
o.outlineitemAllSites.Zenpointtest.HoverMouse()
Call aqObject.SaveObjectSnapshotToFile(o,"C:\WorksharePoint\1.tcSnapshot", true, true)

Please can you suggest how to capture the tooltip for different options in outlook like mail, Contacts, Calender, tasks... etc?

Regards,
Azeez.

Hi Azeezuddin,

It looks like the full name of the object you're looking for is:
Code:
Sys.Process("OUTLOOK").Window("OfficeTooltip", "*", 1)

As the object seems to always exist, you can use its other properties to check whether it is in the state you expect.

Hey,
Most objects like tooltips are also having properties like "visible".
try find the correct Object using TCs Object-Browser.
i think there should be a child object like "tooltip" for your object. if you got the Object you can access its Properties to check if it's visible

hope this helps

Hi Mike,

I've Searched in TC's Object browser and i got 3 Objects related to Tooltip as below.

Aliases.OUTLOOK.Window("tooltips_class32", "", 1)
Aliases.OUTLOOK.Window("tooltips_class32", "", 2)
Aliases.OUTLOOK.Window("tooltips_class32", "", 3)

These have various properties like WndCaption, Caption, value, Visible, Exists....etc

But none of these properties give correct information.
Property "Visible" returns the value as 'False' irrespective of tooltip displayed or not.
property 'Exists' returns the value as 'True' irrespective of tooltip presence. I've tried to get the values in the following ways..
first I've hovered the mouse over required object and then tried to get the value
MsgBox Aliases.OUTLOOK.Window("tooltips_class32", "", 1).Exists
MsgBox Aliases.OUTLOOK.Window("tooltips_class32", "", 1).Visible
I don't find any property for any object such as 'Tooltip' in Object Browser.

Please can you guide me how to detect whether tooltip is available or not.

Thanks in Advance,
Azeez.

Hi Azeezuddin,

Most probably, this is because the hint is not shown when you are exploring Outlook in the Object Browser. Try using the following script - it should clarify things:

Code:
// JScript

function test()
{
// Focus Outlook
Sys.Process("OUTLOOK").Window("rctrl_renwnd32", "*", 1).SetFocus()
// Hover the mouse over the e-mails list
Sys.Process("OUTLOOK").Window("rctrl_renwnd32", "*", 1).Window("SUPERGRID", "Table View", 2).HoverMouse();
// Give Outlook two seconds to pop up the hint
Delay(2000);
// As the tooltip exists, we can get its text
Log.Message(Sys.Process("OUTLOOK").Window("tooltips_class32", "", 1).wText);
}
