Test Automation Coverage
      #719753 - 11/13/12 09:40 AM

Hey all,

I did some RandD on coverage. Test cases\requirements.
But no where did I see coverage as is relates to objects.

In a sprint environment we get many builds a day. My smaller web app has 35 links. I get the innertext of the link to verify they exist. I then navigate to the link and test one object(webedit, webtable), then navigate to the next page(link).

Does anyone think this would be a valid way to measure coverage?

Thanks in advance...

MRV

The approach would depend on the scope of your testing. If the intention is only to check one object on each page link, then your thought would suffice.

But aren't you worried about the changes to the system due to each enhancements ?

One thought would be to maintain two test suites :
1. Functional regression
2. Sprint Scope based

The first suite coverage would depend on the No of static functional cases automated.
Second one would be more specific to changes in each build.

Hope this helps.
