Suggestions - New tools
      #719545 - 11/08/12 11:30 AM

Hi All,

I am working with a manual web application testing project where my manager is asking to come up with ideas/ tools which can reused and will be a value add to the client . Can any one of you please provide your valuable suggestions on any tools which can be used ?Client doesn't have much testing process in place. I am basically looking for some examples which you have implemented and will be so thankful if anyone of you can provide your valuable suggestions.

Thanks
Bineesh Damodaran

What kind of tools are you asking about?

- Tools that a manual tester can use to aid in their manual testing?
- Tools that you can sell to future clients?
- Tools to move some of your testing to be more automated testing?
- Something else?

For example, bug trackers are a kind of tool. Is that what you mean? Have you looked through the forums here to see the kinds of tools people are using?

With a little biased, I would recommend you qTrace, screen capture tool, helps Testers reduce their effort in manual testing with report. http://www.qasymphony.com/qtrace-overview.html
Featured features:
* Captures both screenshots and users action
* Intelligently generates clear step-by-step narration of the test scenario
* Submits a ticket directly to a defect tracking system or generates a stand-alone document

Hi Bineesh ,

I'm also biased, but you might want to check out PractiTest. It's an end-2-end solution for management of requirements, tests and issues. It's great for manual testing and it also integrates, via API, with any automation tool. Here is the link to sign up for the free demo - http://www.practitest.com/contact-us/try-a-live-demo/

I hope that helps,
Hadar
