Number of instances of class "Actions"
      #718315 - 10/18/12 07:08 AM

we're using ALM Performance Center 11.
Test usually runs with ~100 Java Virtual User.
1 controller, 1 load generator

VUsers are running "as thread" .

My question is: Does LR create 1 instance of the "class Actions" per VUser or per load generator (assuming we only have one script)?

I want to be sure that instance members are different for each VUser and class members ('static') are shared between VUsers on one load generator.

thanks in advance

Hi Christian...

I have good news and bad news for you!

The good news: Congratulations, you are probably our most expert or near expert at Java Virtual Users!

By the way... That's the bad news too!

Not a lot of people use Java Vusers. Someone on here may or may not be able to answer your question.

Unless you are writing a compiler, strtok is NOT the answer.

QAF is still an exercise in self-sufficiency! (Thank JB!)

Christian, your answer depends in many cases upon how you have instructed your load generator to execute your virtual users. Are you running as Thread or as a Process?

Now for the follow up, there is usually a deeper unarticulated question about LoadRunner, how the load generator operates and general tool architecture when questions like this one are expressed. The server does not care whether the load generator loads a single instance of the class or multiple instances, all the sever understands is that it is responding to a request.

Are you running into platform issues on your load generator? Are you memory restricted on your load generator? What are the underlying issues or questions which are driving your questions on how many instances of class "actions" are loaded?
