TIP: Shared Module Naming Conventions
      #718232 - 10/17/12 07:38 AM

While I have in the past posed questions to the community whenever I encountered an issue with my TestPartner scripts that I could not figure out initially, I have actually encountered an issue that I figured out before posting the issue in the form of a question. So now I'll post such issues as tips, and not questions, for the benefit of TestPartner users who encounter the same issues I did.

This tip regards shared module naming conventions. Whenever a TestPartner script calls a subroutine or function that is declared/defined in a separate shared module, it is important that the shared module file name is not the same as the name of the declared function/subroutine, even if one is in caps and the other is not (i.e., not case sensitive). If that happens, TestPartner generates a compile error: Expected variable or procedure, not module.

Please feel free to comment on this tip, including those who have experienced this situation.

Thanks very much, and hope this information helps my fellow TestPartner users.

This also applies to scripts.
