Test Management Tools-
      #717391 - 10/03/12 01:30 AM

Hi

I am looking for a Test Management Tool to replace HP Quality Center 9.2 as it is not going to be supported by HP soon. I do have an option to upgrade to HPQC 11 but want to look for other options before deciding.

The Tool I am looking for should have all the basic functionalities. SOA and Automation Management are preferable. The Tool should be able to integrate with Performance and Automation Tools (HP QTP).

Please help and suggest the best tools that you know of.

Hi,

You may want to check out PractiTest.
I'm biased as I'm an account manager at PractiTest, but it does answer the requirements you mentioned.
Use this link to get PractiTest's features checklist - http://www.practitest.com/resources/qa-management-system-comparison-table/

Hello Vishal,

Do take a look at QMetry - a full-featured Test Management application (http://www.qmetry.com)

A few of our customers have migrated to QMetry from QC exactly for the same reason - end-of-life-support for the existing version. Do take a look at our case studies http://www.qmetry.com/customers and specifically there is the University of Sydney http://www.qmetry.com/caseunivsydney

Hi

Rather than suggest a specific tool I would recommend identifying your requirements first. Then select a range of test management tools and evaluate them against your requirements.

A few resources that might help you here...

Understanding the Complexities of Test Management
This covers many of the main requirements you should be considering before you select/implement a test management solution.

Evaluating Test Management Tools
A brief guide to evaluating and selecting tools. Might be a process which is a little heavy weight for your needs but there are some good concepts in there worth following.

Hope this helps.

Absolutely agree with Trag above, you should figure out your own requirements clearly first. And this comparison may help you out with HP QC in the list. http://www.qasymphony.com/qtest-comparison.html
