Have any quotes you use at work?
      #716619 - 09/18/12 10:59 AM

Maybe from this group: The sooner you fall behind, the more time you have to catch up.

From my son's football coach: Excuses are the nails that built the house of failure.

When the answer is obviously yes: Does a one-legged duck swim in circles?

--------------------
The worst form of failure is the failure to try.

I use one all the time:
And that's why we test.

Another I use when reviewing Requirements and someone says "that will never happen":
And when it does, what should the system do?

Cheesy I know but 'fail to prepare, prepare to fail' is one I use regularly.

Okay... another sarcastic one from me.

"Why ME!!!"

or

"Just call me Einstein, because I keep doing this type of work expecting something to be different every day." (think about that one a bit )

These aren't everyday quotes but they're a couple of oxymorons I've encountered in the office:

"Gradually login 25 users simultaneously" - Load Test Requirement

When trying to watch a training video - "You may only view slides that you have already viewed."

You missed the best time to post that by two minutes.

At 1:14 it would have been 10/11/12 13:14.

Anyway, back to a few of mine:

Companies that reward firefighters breed arsonists.

"I have noticed even people who claim everything is predestined, and that we can do nothing to change it, look before they cross the road."
- Stephen Hawking

Life's too short to safely remove USB devices.

"Testing is the INFINITE PROCESS of comparing the INVISIBLE to the AMBIGUOUS so as to avoid the UNTHINKABLE happening to the ANONYMOUS!"
-James Bach

"Today's mighty oak is just yesterday's nut that held its ground."
