Open STA supports LDAP
      #716001 - 09/06/12 06:00 AM

Hi, i am looking out for the below details:

Will OPEN STA supports LDAP

Also, is this practical to generate

TPS close to 280583 using OPEN STA.

If yes, can u give me an approximate number of agents required for the same to generate the load.

Thanks!

Hi,

Is this a website that you are trying to test? If yes, where you able to see the user id and password being passed in the scripts or any cookies related to authentication?

If your transaction completion time is well below sub second, it may be possible! (to me, this is a huge TPS )

The no of users that can be simulated per load generator (agent) depends upon the agent's capacity. You have to monitor the load agent's health to see what is the maximum no of users that it can handle.

Too many users making a lot of requests from a single agent pc will also max the agent's N/W cards utilization and connections. There may be delays in response time as a result of this. (Please note that agents can also attribute to delayed responses, as in this case.)

You may have to modify certain TCP/IP parameters at the load agent level. At any point in time, an agent pc with a single network card cannot exceed 65536 (minus Reserved ports) concurrent TCP/IP connections.

If OpenSTA doesn't support your requirements, you can try JMeter or LoadRunner that has LDAP support.

Cheers,
Vivek
