E-load or Loadrunner real life success stories
      #620052 - 03/29/10 02:52 PM

I have a client who is trying to choose between Loadrunner and OATS. I have extensive Loadrunner experience but I am having a hard time finding anyone with good OATS experience. From the technical specs both will be fine but I am looking for real life yes's or no's, is OATS a good tool?
Is it easy to script with? there is not much time for a learning curve and that may be a deciding factor in going with Loadrunner
Do people generally like it? there just is not a lot of users it seems using OATS.

OATS is a great tool and I have used it successfully since way back when it was known as the RSWSoftware e-Test suite (before even Empirix!)

OATS is quite easy to use with Siebel and EBS as well as Web. Scripting is very easy with minimal manual coding. I have used Loadrunner for years now and I know the difference.

I worked with the e=tester tool for over 3 years, easy to use and master. Static values worked really well, dynamic values were a little ify. Overall I would recommend it.

I'm now working on QTP 11 and still think e-tester was easier to use and to teach to someone.

OATS is very good tool for Oracle e-business suite & Siebel based applications.Handling dynamic values are pretty easier for these applications.

Lot of tricks can also be done using reg-ex during correlation.

Mahesh

Am now working for a company that doesn't know about automated testing. They are still doing manual testing, what a pain, am trying to bring them to E-tester, it's an uphill battle-at least, I'm still working. Really miss E-tester.
