      #680283 - 07/27/11 06:06 AM

Currently i am evaluating Rational Robot with QTP(as it required my comp). So i need couple of things for this.
1)Somebody in this forum said that currently IBM is not supporting Rational Robot. Can any body confirm on this. And few more things i required on this tool.

2.What is latest version of Rational Robot in market(am not sure is it 7.1..)
3. when was the last release of this tool from IBM.
Any body know this information then let me know. it would be great help.

Thanks in advance.

The latest version of Robot that I am aware of is IBM does still support this software however, there have not been any enhancements to the product line in some time. I have used QTP for over 6 years and now RFT (IBM Rational Functional Tester). Both require differnt skill sets. QTP can be scripted in either VB or Java Script where Robot uses SQA and RFT Java. RFT took some adjustments from my perspective and is not as robust as QTP but all in all not a bad tool to use. Were you looking at Robot because of the Delphi support? If not than RFT would be a better comparison to QTP.

Hope this helps.

IBM is slowly moving out of RR and its support. It's Marketing more on RFT.
