When to do security testing?
      #579057 - 07/09/09 06:40 PM

Should security testing be done after development is complete or can it be done concurrently?

It can be done concurrently.

In addition to testing concurrently with development (hoping that developers are unit and unit-integration testing as well), do you think it makes sense to "test" requirements and designs prior to development?

How we can perform security testing concurrently to the development process?

Thanks,
Sharabh

Vulnerability analysis can be done when having a look at the architecture of the applicaiton - This really helps in listing down the possible vulnerabilities

cheers

Yes, I agree with Ramesh that We generally done security testing after completion of functionality testing. Because first priority for the testing is functional testing, once functional testing is done then we can proceed to security testing or other remain testing types.

@ Dev_Indra

Thats not suggestable, below is my perception

when secuirty bugs are fixed you may also have to do functional testing one more round which might cause more bugs(functional issues)

If the activity is done paralelly, you could cover both the functioanl and security at same time which might save your time.
