Session ID Timeout
      #191263 - 11/11/03 02:11 AM

When I record a script the sessionID is hardcoded
in that script. If I run the script the next day through browser playback I get a session id timeout. This use to work fine when I was load testing earlier this year. Would anyone know what has gone wrong?.

Hi Darach,

I'm using WebLoad 5.0 and have had the same problem. Each time I log in, I retreive the current SessionID and I use this as a parameter throughout the script, instead of the one that was recorded originally.

I don't know why that would have changed from running the scripts now vs running before. Possibly there was a change to the Application to invalidate sessions or to check for valid sessions...

Alternately it could be something to do with cookies. Maybe there was/is a cookie being set that holds the correct session id, but for some reason now the HTTP GET/POST sessionid is being looked at instead of the cookie's sessionid...

Hope this gives you a couple of ideas,
Mike

Is this resolved?

Advise me!

Thanks,

There is nothing to "resolve".

you are sending stale hardcoded session id's and expecting them to work. it won't.

you need to get a valid session id at runtime and send that back in subsequent requests.

Hi,

Basically I ran the script on Web LOAD IDE against single user. For my application user needs to login to pay bill.
When I looked in page view and side by side I saw the below issues

1. When I select main landing page URL from Agenda tree in side by side view it says your browser is not JavaScript enabled, even though JavaScript is enabled in Fire Fox settings. It gives the same message for both browsers i.e. IE8 and Firefox

2. When I select Login URL from Agenda tree, in side by side says session timed out, even though it has correlated.

3. When I select on View Bill and Logout URLs from Agenda tree, in side by side says authentication

4. But when I looked into log window Test Passed. I am wondering how come test passed?

Please advise me!

Thanks,
Chinni20

Hi, I am also facing the same problem. When i play back in the webload ide, I cannot even pass the login screen.

page view>side by side I saw that it shows only the login screen at any node i select. I was getting session time out.
I have correlated the token and the session id.
We use a hashed password, not sure how casn I
pass that in the script.
