Thinking about upgrading to QC 11
      #673767 - 06/03/11 06:27 PM

My company is thinking about upgrading from QC 10 to QC 11. Has anyone done this and did you encounter any unusual issues.

We've done multiple upgrades in the past 10 years but the vendor is strongly hinting that we use their consulting services for this upgrade. Is this upgrade any more difficult than the past ones?

We are upgrading to QC 11 not ALM 11.

We are in the process of upgrading from qc 10 to 11 and its been a month and we are still struggling. I would suggest that you make a clone of ur current server and upgrade the clone first. If everything goes well, then upgrade the actual server. If you have issues upgrading the clone, then you can use the vendor. Also, if you decide to use the clone server option, make sure your database setting in QC is also pointing to the clone server's database otherwise your current database will get corrupted.

Is it possible that you can send me an email to discuss your issues?

rayc,

Did you ever do your upgrade? I upgraded our QC v10 system to v11 and would share my experiences with you, if you are still looking for input.

I was part of an upgrade from 9.2 to 11. The upgrade itself went quite smoothly (we'd had a couple practice runs so we were pretty confident it would).

The overall experience though wasn't pleasant due to the large number of defects we found in 11. Hopefully now that HP is up to SP3 that is no longer an issue.

Cheers,
Brendan.

Curious if you have closed your browser and which browser you are using. I've seen this and rebooted my box. that seem to help.

Good luck.
