How do you add a column to a step in a script
      #645311 - 10/12/10 10:47 AM

Hello,
How do I add a extra column to the step in a script.
(Ex: I want to add 'Expected result' as a column in the step)

Thanks
LK

Hello,

You cannot add a column. We use the Notes column to list our expected results.
You can also use the Question step type for expected results. (example below)

Script Name: Open CNN.com
Description: Launch and view CNN main web page
Step: 1
Step Type: Instruction
Text: Launch IE and type following URL in address bar: http://www.cnn.com
Possible Answers: Pass/Fail
Expected Answer: Pass

Step: 2
Step Type: Question
Text: Was CNN.com main web page displayed?
Possible Answers: Yes/No
Expected Answer: Yes

Good luck. this tool is clunky.

We also use the Notes column for expected results. I don't consider just Pass or Fail as an expected result. The expected result is what you expect to see as a result of taking some action. For Ex: Test Action: Click the 'Check Light' button; Expected Result: The light turns blue. If the light is blue the test Passed, If the light does not turn blue, the test Failed.

API to iterate over each saved package, each data flow in the package, each object in the data flow, and each input and output in the data flow object. The application should persist the column ID and name of each column to a lookup table, along with the ID of the parent Data Flow task and the ID of the package.
