Revision history number
      #580324 - 07/16/09 04:10 AM

Hi all,

I have a small doubt here.

For a document, any minor change in it will increment revision history number from 1.0 to 1.1 or 1.1 to 1.2
And for major changes its like major change E.g. from 1.4 to 2.0

Suppose i reach 1.10. for any minor changes should i continue like - 1.10.. 1.11. .. 1.12 and so on...... OR should i jump from 1.10 to 2.0?? for Minor change

please clarify. This is for revision history sheet in any running document. Thanks.

For minor changes, 1.9, 1.10, 1.11, ... 1.393, etc

For major changes, 2.0.

(Of course you are free to invent any scheme you like, this is just the way I do it.)

Tinker;
Are you talking software builds or are you talking software testing documentation?

another query related to this is...

Is it fine to maintain the revision history of a doc separately ??
