comparing informup and jira
      #624380 - 04/29/10 06:07 AM

Hi
We are small startup of about 20 users (hopefully number of users incraese in the future:)). we checked few tools and we get informup & jira for the final.

personally I had experience with other tools like QC but here we have budget limitation and I found those tool impressive and meet our basic needs.

I would appreciate some feedback from users (it will be great from users that used those tools) especially on disadvatages of both tool when comapny become bigger, changing way of work etc...

Thanks for all:-)

I used both tools and I liked them both:-) so whatever you will choose is a good decision. Here is a list of advanages and disadvatages as I see it:
1. Both gives you all basic / advanced options and I think both can support small companies with 20 users. Both will support you when number of users will increase.
2. As a QA manager I preferd informup because it includes the full cycle including tests (which was missing in Jira when I used it and we used excel for testing :-().
3. Jira looks more professional but the price supposed to be higher, and the learning curve is higher

In case you have budget limitation and you want the test management option as well I would recommended informup, in case the answer for previous key points is no I would recommended Jira.

Good luck:-)

In your entry you asked for a feedback, and i feel like i'm in a good position to give you a good one regarding informup. As my companies premier QA tester I tested informup almost a year ago. first i downloaded the trial version (the price seemed right), and we quickly implemented it to the entire support division. It has a really good dashboard, the application is very simple but supports our business needs , it is fully customized and has a full customized workflow process as well. I am using informup and i am very pleased with the results
I have never used Jira so I can't tell you much about JIRA :-)
