SilkTest 2009 - Open Agent Issues...
      #602769 - 11/24/09 04:28 AM

Hi Folks,

Have anyone of you started using the locator keyword (Open Agent) and perform any successful runs.

I strongly feel, SilkTest 2009 has problems in switching between Agents automatically.
The locator concept is beautiful, but whats the fun when it does'nt work properly.

Please post your experiences, so that people can refer this thread for any SilkTest 2009 OpenAgent related issues.

Thanks,
Nagesh

Hi Munnaz,

I've also seen this in some rare cases. If you use calls that are based on locator keyword declarations, it seems that routing back to OA doesn't always work after a CA call in between. I try to avoid using CA calls and if I need to make one (which is necessary sometimes) I script some code that takes care about routing to the correct agent (use handles for both agents and disconnect/connect them as needed).

Regards

Yes... This was the way that I have handled. I have put that in a function and called it where ever it used to throw a strange error.

Can you share the code you have written for handling the same? It would be of great help.

Thanks for your response.

I have recently started using the locator keyword in declarations for a mixed Classic/OA environment, against a web app with embedded Flex objects.

I have seen the same strange behavior. In most of my cases, calling a SetActive on my main Flex window before working with the Flex objects has been an easy fix.

Hi Boston,

My issue slightly waries from yours.

In my case, an error is thrown when running test cases in groups. The first test case executes fine, then from the 2nd or 3rd testcase error saying that IE7 is not found is thrown and all the test cases fail from there after.
