Script Command Failure Error in Robot
      #578453 - 07/07/09 01:43 AM

Hi,
I am currently automating a Web application, where upon clicking a button, a page (with few Images & tables) will be displayed in another instance of the Browser. Its not a web dialog box.

When I try to record the objects (such as Images, links) in the page, all I got is,
GenericObject Click, "", ""
but all the objects I try to record are normal - Images acts as links in the screen.

Hence I used the Inspector to identify the properties of the objects in the application and used the same to write the script myself. Ex:
HTMLImage Click, "HTMLText=Print;uniqueID=ms_id12", ""

The issue:
After writing the script, when I tried to execute the Script, I am getting the following error:
**** Script Command Failure on line 6 of 'Test Script'

I am not sure why Robot is unable to identify the Object, which the Inspector is able to.

Please help.

Regards,
Paz

What is the code on and around line 6?
Did you set your context to the new window correctly?
When you are recording, are you starting IE yourself or have you let Robot start it?

If this or any response has helped you, please reply to the thread stating that it worked so other people with a similar issue will know how you fixed your issue!

Hi Ciege,
The following piece of code was on Line 6
HTMLImage Click, "HTMLText=Print;uniqueID=ms_id12", ""

Yes, the context is set to the new window, and Robot is starting the IE.

~~~~~~
BTW, I tried some modifications to the above line of code as below:
HTMLImage Click, "HTMLText=Print;uniqueID=ms_id12", "2,2"
I just added the Coords and, yippee, Robot is able to identify the HTML Image Object now!
But I still don't know understand one thing, the following recorded code:
GenericObject Click, "", ""
Why Robot is unable to identify the Objects when recorded, which the Inspector is able to?
