Playback will not use Databank
      #560018 - 03/31/09 12:52 PM Attachment (307 downloads)

So I've setup my databank. It has a single variable, MDN, with 3 records in the databank .csv file.

I've run the databank wizard. I've mapped and bound my variable, MDN, to the parameter on my page. The check mark even shows in the script window next to the parameter that is supposed to use the databank.

However, when I play back my script, being sure to use iteration through all the records in my databank, what gets used on playback is always the recorded value?!?

What's weird is the script view shows the correct 'Tested' value (the value from the databank) as does the results window. All my tests pass.

Yet, I am watching the playback and can see, regardless of the record supposedly being used by the databank, that on each iteration the recorded value is always being inserted into the MDN field.

Is there some setting I'm forgetting?

What am I missing?

I've attached a screenshot of the eTester script and results pane. You can see that the 'Tested' value is what is in my databank.

Some further information.

I was able to put a delay on the step between the MDN being populated in the MDN field and the 'submit' button being clicked. I can see that the databank IS replacing the recorded value with the value from the databank but right before the submit button is clicked the MDN is mysteriously being changed back to the recorded value?

What I'm still stumped on is 'what' in the script is changing that back to the recorded value.

Anyone?

Did you rename or delete the earlier data bank variable and assigned a new one? In my script, i had mapped a variable and renamed it again, the scripts started to fail.

You would have renamed or created a varible in the data bank file and would not have done rebinding of your data bank variable with the renamed or new variable in the data bank file.

data bank worked well with us, with parameterization.
Just match the names of the columns of the XLS files in this below code:

{{db.login...}}

Which version of ATS are you using and are you using open script treeview to map the databank for the same ?
