Creating an excel file in WR
      #533873 - 11/24/08 04:37 AM

Hi All,

Can you please assist me in creating an excel file in WinRunner and then writing to it.

I can write and read data form already existing excel file but not able to create an excel file and then write data into it.

One approach I tried was:

--- I created new excel file using 'file_open("file_name.xls",1);' function, but was not able to write data into this file.

Requesting your comments.

Regards,
Milind

ddt_open can also be used for creating a new Excel file.

Hi All,

Problem resolved. Pasting the code I used:

ddt_open("C:\\Temp_Testing.xls",1);
ddt_set_val_by_row("C:\\Temp_Testing.xls",0,"Application","");
ddt_set_val_by_row("C:\\Temp_Testing.xls",0,"Domain","");
ddt_next_row("C:\\Temp_Testing.xls");
ddt_set_val_by_row("C:\\Temp_Testing.xls",1,"Application","Test");
ddt_set_val_by_row("C:\\Temp_Testing.xls",1,"Domain","Testing");
ddt_save("C:\\Temp_Testing.xls");
ddt_close_all_tables();

Thanks all of you for your time.

Regards,
Milind
