merge gui map files
      #528847 - 11/03/08 07:58 AM

Hi,I am attempting to merge some gui maps using the "Auto Merge" tool however the tool appears to be appending an extra file type to the end of the file name and the tool then says it cannot load the file. For example "gems.gui" becomes "gems.GUI.gui". I cannot find anything in the user guide to point me in the right direction, any help would be appreciated.

.GUI files are just text files. The best way to do this is to create a new .GUI file, open each of the other .GUI files and bring all of your object definitions into one file. Save it, and "Voila!" it's a universal GUI file.

Since the only problem you describe is the GUI file name, you could also run the merge (which, unlike just concatenating them, will take care of the same window's being in both files), then just rename the file to what it's supposed to be.
