Replacement for paper based checklist?
      #503894 - 07/29/08 08:33 AM

We are a 100% automated test shop - however the test environment setup prior to the test run is all manual. We track this manual progress with some detailed paper based checklists but now need to spread this effort across teams in India and the UK.

Obviously a centralised, computer based checklist is much more suitable. I am looking for something that has a list of steps and I can set a pass/fail by them, along with the testers name and time/date stamp. I need multiple checklists for every release and be able to access them historically.

At a pinch I could knock-up a web site to do this but does anyone else know of any tools that can do this job? I am not really looking for a general Test Management tool as we already have defect tracking, etc. I just want a replacement for a paper based checklist.

Any tips appreciated - thanks!

Don't know of any off-hand. Was going to suggest putting up a website, too. I mean there are a whole other bunch of headaches that come along with doing the website internally, but it isn't a complex funciton you're looking for either.

I know this is a long shot but wondered if you where still looking for something to use as a checklist.

Have a look at www.e-checklive.com

Only developed this in the past year. It might suit your requirements if you still have them.
