Keyboard simulation
      #426433 - 10/22/07 09:25 PM

Hi,

I am trying to simulate keyboard simulation for sending an email from outlook i.e playing CRTL+Enter. Can anyone help me in defining the syntax in Visual Test 6.0 on how to use these key using PLAY.
I did refer the help document provided with Visual Test, but there I found the syntax is only for single key simulation.

Thanks
Sudhir

Hi Sudhir,

To PLAY a CTRL+Enter try:

Play "^{ENTER}"

The ^ represents the CTRL key. I'm away from my work computer at the moment so this is just off the top of my head. It should be correct though.

Hi,
I am new hear and I hope that somebody can help me

I am useing Rational Visual Test for device testing but now I have a problem and search for a solution.

With the "PLAY" and "WEBPLAY" command you can move the mouse and make mouse clicks. Did there exist a way to read out the actual mouse position (coordinates)????

Because in my case I tell the user he should click on a special place to calibrate the following clicks but for this I must know where the user made his click.

Thnaks

Hmmmm... I don't believe you'll easily be able to calibrate like that. It could be done using some Win32 API calls, but that's not something for novices.

Maybe there's another way to reach your goal. Why are you wanting to calibrate? I find for most of my clicking I can just get the size and position of the window with the WGetInfo command and use that as the basis of where to click.

Hi

yes there are commands for doing this, i have a load of tests running today but tomorrow i will look into this and find the commands you need.

p,s. i think a lot of people are using VT as you are able to install and run on vista, also the code is so much better to write and create error handlers, think Rational robot needs to look back into the code and make it more flexible
