Does Virtual user capacity depend upon the ACT controller capacity ?
      #322332 - 01/07/04 10:05 PM

hi ,

when i asked for clarification from Microsoft Technical team , for the supporting of Virtual users, say like , My question was if i get socket errors for just 25 users, is it the problem with tool or with client machine capacity ?

The reply from the microsoft technical team was that , it may be from the client Machine capacity. They recommended to use the mulitple client request concept where we use to send request from different machines.

what is Your suggestion regarding this issue ?

I guess it would depend on your machine AND your network. In my case, I've ran over 200 threads on a pentium 400 with 256 megs of ram before without too much trouble. On my newer machine, I've ran over that amount even easier...with the limitation either port restrictions on the network, or the server itself.
BUT, it'd be easy enough to verify if you did use 12-14 users on two servers simultaneously. If it was your server, then you'd see the same issues. If it was your pc (Unlikely, unless you're running a total dinosaur, or you're running MS Defrag and virus scanning your hard drive while running your test. [Smile] ) or the network, then you won't.
