A couple ideas:
1) Different sized txt files, copy/compare/delete using a batch file.
2) A short VBScript to write out to a file byte-by-byte however big you need it.

The speed is going to be restricted to how fast your memory card can write data, probably not the method you choose to do it with. Some write faster than others.

It is also worth remembering that SD and CF cards have a limited, albeit quite large, number of rewrites, and tend to get slower and smaller in capacity with time as the number of unusable sectors increases. Are you trying to test the SD card, or a piece of software that uses the SD card? If the latter are you running on a desktop or PDA / Phone? I ask these questions, as this will impact how you test.

If you are using a CE / PocketPC variant, go to Start / Settings / Control Panel / System / Memory. This will let you alter how physical memory is partitioned between virtual disk and program memory. This will allow you to test low memory and low storage behaviour without using the SD or CF card.

When you are asking questions in this forum in future, where ever possible, try to give more explicit contextual information such as what you are trying to achieve, what hardware and software you running, etc... If you do this, you will avoid wasting other peoples time, and tend to get more informative and in-depth responses.

Regards,

Shane
