I am evaluating WinTask as a tool. I quite newbie. I able to record and play a test case. But I failed to understand where can I see any sort of logs. Is it possible to write these errors in a log file. Please, let me know the exact steps to do so.
Also, is there anyway by which I can pause during my recording.
Re: WinTask logs
On the WinTask menu, select Configure, Run.
You will see a dialog named (appropriately enough) "Configure Run".
In this dialog are the settings which indicate where the log files are written, if they are Full or Limited, and if the new log file for a particular script overwrites the previous log file or not.
If you are set up to actually create a log file, you would normally view it after running a script by choosing File, Open Log from the WinTask menu.
The LogFile() function can be used to change from the default logfile settings within your script if you so choose.
The Comment() function will write any text you choose into the log file.
I tend to
- always write a log file to the default location
- use a "limited" log file
- put important information into the log using Comment()
Try it out - it's quite easy.
As far as pausing - have you looked at the appropriately named Pause() function? If that's not what you are looking for, why don't you start a new thread and tell us what you are trying to accomplish.
