running wintask script via telnet
We have a windows (x86) application running on the following windows flavors.
1. Win XP
2. Win Vista
3. Win 7 (x86 & x64)
4. Win 2003
5. Win 2008
I have developed regression test scripts to be run on these OSes.
Is it ok to invoke the test script via a telnet connection to all the machines. Is there any difference between logging onto the machine, invoking the script and invoking the script via telnet.
The idea is to minimize the human interference during the test runs. I plan to have a master script which will automatically invoke the test scripts on the test machines.
Can someone please guide.
Re: running wintask script via telnet
It depends on the scripts.
Many scripts (ie, those that interact with the UI) need a desktop. I don't believe a telnet session will ensure that a desktop is available.
