testing within the network and outside the network
OK...Iam in a big dilemma...we test our web application (its a website buy insurance online) in different browsers to make sure our application is working fine. we test our web application in a lab with norton antivirus and firewall(which is outside the company's network) so the whole idea of testing multiple different browsers outside the company's network is to try reflect/mock the environment our regular customer has, i.e. no corporate firewalls, no proxies and restricted browsing/environment e.t.c.. However one person says that it does not really make any difference where you test whether its inside the companys network or outside the company's network since the web application should behave the same in all environments.so he says its the same thing whether you test inside the companys network or outside the network? I feel however its not. any one please clarify and help me out so that i can take a right decision on where to test?
Re: testing within the network and outside the network
yup there would be difference between company's network and outside the network. some times the application which is working fine in the company's network won't behave in the same manner in the outside network even though the settings are same. Better to check in the outside network too..
