Hover over the tool and make sure the tip comes up?

Re: How to test a tool tip?

by testing a tool tip i meant if there are huge number of such tool tips to be tested, then is there any method by which testing the tool tip can be automated?

Re: How to test a tool tip?

Any number of GUI testing tools could probably do the job. There are probably at least 2 to 3 dozen that would do the job. You are going to have to be a bit more specific with your requirements before you can find the tool that best supports your needs.

I would suggest exploring the various places on this site. A good place to start would probably be on the Links page, under "Tools". There is even a link for "automated testing".

Be resourceful. Don't stop at the first page. Dig a little deeper. There is a wealth of information here.

Re: How to test a tool tip?

    Hi all,

I tried to find out a tool which suits the requirements you mentioned. But didn't find any.

I wonder if there is any automation tool to test just tooltips in particular.

I think mouseover is the only way we can test them.

    Thanks,

Re: How to test a tool tip?

If I were testing tool tips I would also copy the text into word and do a spell check. A quicker way might be to get the tips from the code and run spellcheck on all the tool tips at once.
