I've to test a web application with LoadRunner. My problem is that this application calls for a given functionnality an Oracle Application which is an applet Java. After tha applet has been launched, I've to record several functionnalities inside...
I'd like to know if it's possible with software LoadRunner to record such actions and to replay the scenario.
Indeed, I don't know which type of protocol I've to choose for such an application because I've a mix of http and applet java...
Thanks for your answer.
Is winrunner a part of product loadrunner or an
other mercury product?
Do you confirm me that it will be not possible with loadrunner to do what I intended?
Actually, I've to say to my customer rapidly if I could make benchmark regards to my oracle application (applet java) or not woth loadrunner?
WinRunner is another Mercury product - typically used for functional testing.
Depending on what you are trying to do, you shouldn't have a problem recording Java Applets with the web protocol in LoadRunner. How is the applet communicating with the server? This will drive the protocol you want to use (if it is using HTTP, you can use multi-protocol web, if it is TCP/IP, then you will need Winsock...). I think we ended up using OracleNCA for some Oracle Financials testing we did a while back, so that may also be a possibility for you.
The Mercury Knowledgbase has some good articles on this subject. Just search for "Java applet" and you'll even find troubleshooting guides for the different types of java applets. Or search for the following Problem IDs: 13341 and 19592. These have some good tips for what you are trying to do.
I am assuming that you are proficient with LoadRunner...
