    Re: PEER Testing

I am Tejas Parekh, new into S/W testing field.

In a short period of time in my company, we are suppose to start PEER testing. So if someone can let me know what is PEER testing & how it can be done. Also before writting test case what kind of knowledge one should have about appliction & same thing before testing the application?

Also let me know how peer testing can be done.

    Thanks & Regads,
    Tejas Parekh.

    Re: PEER Testing

It's not a term I've heard before but that's not a surprise there seems to be new testing terms thought up every week or old ones rebranded!

Have you tried searching on google? A paper did come up on peer testing that might answer your question.

Alternatively, your Test Plan document should give you an idea of what it means or perhaps someone else in your team.

    Re: PEER Testing

Oh la la, ever so creative to pick up a concept and spread it around. What you are referring to is more like Extreme Programming where people may review each other's code to suggest improvements or to intercept plain mistakes. If you employ the term in a QA context you would be working closely with the developer to create test cases in a test driven development process. Theoretically you can also employ the concept in reviewing each other's test scripts prior to test execution. I still see it as someone who is trying to latch onto a new concept without being clear on where to go with it, so he/she throws it at the troops to see where it might lead. Does that strike a chord for you, Tejas?

Since you post this in the context of web testing I hope you are not referring to peer-to-peer test execution, which is simply a minimalistic network that is not usually employed in applications that are subject to thorough QA.
