Hi friends im new to this group.im having some doubts regarding web testing.
1.Is there n e relation to the IIS of the win2000 for web testing.
2.when testing while loading a page if some object on the page show a message that invalid access. then what would be its error.
similar to the above if there is an error invalid access for certain line on the web page the what would be the error and what should we do as testers to check it.
hope i get replies for this.i have a lot of issues 2 discuss.
1) Are you talking about Win2k Pro or Server? IIS must run on a Windows server (the version of IIS depends on the version of Windows)
2) Depends on the object. Some objects would be able to work around an access issue, others won't.
Are you wanting to try and create errors, or are you trying to track down the cause of existing errors?
Well, I am a little unclear about your first question so could you rephrase that question. IIS is integrated in to Windows 2000 and is the piece where you can setup a site with virtual directories, SSL, etc to access a site. So you can test many things by changing settings within IIS or Apache with Linux.
As far as your second question, you can turn off HTTP friendly error messages in IE by going to Tools -> Internet Options -> Advance tab -> (uncheck) Show HTTP Friendly Error Messages to see what the actually error is. Then do a search google.com to see how to resolve it.
