Test Script while doing manual testing

    Hi,
I stuck up with a point about 'Test Script' while doing manual testing.
What is Test script for manual testing?
How to write test script while doing manual testing.
(Is it a use case document that is called as test script document in manual testing)
Can anyone help me with an example.
Uptill now I as just aware of test script generated by using automated testing tool.
    Please clarify me doubt

Re: Test Script while doing manual testing

    Hi,
Test script generated by automation tool is entirely different from the one used in manual testing. In manual testing, test script is one of the most important documents.A Test script contains test cases which are made to test same/similar functionality of the software. So a test script is nothing but a group of test cases made for testing a functionality. For example if your software is having n number of different functionalities then it is possible to have n test scripts ,each for one functionality.Though depending upon the complexity of the functionality, a functionality may be divided into subfunctionalities and each such subfunctionality may have a separate test script. At the time of manual testing these scripts are run/executed and bugs are filed. There are different formats for writing test scripts but mostly test scripts include Title, steps to recreate, expected result, actual result,pass/fail criteria. There may be more field/columns in the test script depending upon your requirement.Use case document is a very high level document. With the help of use case document, different scenarios can be listed and from these scenarios you can write test scripts.
