    Identification of "dynamic" HTML link

    Our web based application has a page containing six HTML links. Although Robot identifies HTML Link, the HTMLId of the link remains constant only for the session. Each subsequent time the page is displayed, the HTMLId of the HTML Link changes.This makes it difficult to recognize same link.

    For example,
    Type=HTMLLink;Name=Menu48 becomes Type=HTMLLink;Name=Menu60
    Type=HTML;HTMLId=Menu48_label becomes Type=HTML;HTMLId=Menu60_label

    Has anybody come across similar situation and if so how did you solve the same ?

    You'll have to find another property to use for recognition method or use wildcards (or regular expression) where the numbers are if possible.

    If you know it is the 6th link, can you create an array of all links, then reference the 6th item in the array?

    You can try Wildcard Characters in your script to identify the link if it is not possible then after all it would depend on the frequency of the change, whether you have program control over the state change, whether or not the object changed form or content and the speed at which that object can be recognized by robot.
