any suggestions or good ideas?
I think your question is a little broad....what is the requirement or specfic scenario that you are trying to test?
I know with the banking industry privacy and security is a huge concern and Steven Splaine has a Security Testing book and the Web Testing Handbook which would be very good reading.
You may also want to read through Testing Applications on the Web by Hung Nguyen.

Currently Working at Persistent Systems Ltd.
I am not testing Internet Banking but testing Financial applications, I am using this policy. Although it is at basic level, I hope it will give you some ideas.
No doubt, Security Testing book and The Web Testing these are the best resources for Web Testing.

I recently performance tested a internet banking solution in Turkey, and we had to disable most of the security while performance testing
Of course, disabling this security hurts the integrity of the test, as we stray from reality - but at least we could get into the system that way and stress some of the transactions.
I guess, as so often in testing - and especialy when asking such a broad question the answer is 'it depends'
