Found out something interesting through the Adobe User forum. When a server returns a document that is handled by a plug-in (such as an Adobe Acrobat PDF file), three requests are made for the document in Internet Explorer versions 4.x and 5, and two requests are made in Internet Explorer version 5.5. This is creating phantom gets in the logfiles, translating to skewed web site statistics.

Bummer! pdf use on websites is expanding - we have hundreds of them. Have any of you seen this in your logfiles? If so, has anyone figured out any solutions? (Or am I completely off base ...?)
