Speech Recognition Webbased Appl
Hi everyone, is there anybody can help me with the such problem?
I have been asked by my team lead to look into or research some automation tool. We are testing Speech Recognition product and it involves testing inWin2K. It's Web appl. product involes e-mail and forwarding ur voice mail from answering machines to ur e-mail. Some Database(SQL 2000) testing is also involved. Can u give an idea which tool will be good enough to perform those tasks
Re: Speech Recognition Webbased Appl
If it really is speech recognition, then it might be difficult to automated the translation portion of the software (from voice to text.) You could have .WAV or .MP3 files with different words in different voices which are fed to the system and then the test tool can check the backend values in the database. You can have a table of words, with several files of the different voices speaking the words. I would first, however, look at why you want to automate: will you be running the same test suite enough to get a return on your investment?
If it is not speech recognition and, instead, speech capture (simply recording the voice, disregarding the contents of the message, and merely storing it) then it may be easier to automate the test effort. In this system, the speech would be captured in a file. Then the user can either have the file sent to email or stored in voice mail. A seperate test effort can validate the quality of the sound in the stored files, but once the file is stored, the system would treat it just like any other file. In this case, the automated tests would focus on the email delivery of files (especially large files - is there any limit to the filesize?) and storage/retrieval of the files from the voice mail (phone interface) or even a web interface.
The "best test tool" question might better be answered if you told us about the platforms you are using. However, you can also try to figure it out for yourself, with the test tool evaluation guide found here - www.qualitywebsys.com
