Testing for Special Characters
I have been assigned the task of verifying that the special characters Trademark ™, Copyright ©, and Registered ® are correctly working within our ASP. We have a Catalog that suppliers send XML or EDI transfers to upload items. I am trying to figure out all of the different scenarios to test for. I am discovering that not only do I need to look into the possibilities of suppliers sending in a Window Char Set or Unicode; they may be sending them in with a UTF-8, UTF-16 or ASCI encoded file. If an encoded value is sent the encoded value will be stored in the database not the Win char or Unicode value. Maybe I am making this more difficult than it needs to be, if so please tell me. If anyone knows of a good reference that deals with testing this issue or would like to share his or her knowledge, I would be very grateful.
Thanks in advance!

I am in the same boat. Hopefully someone has an answer.
