    Re: XHTML & CSS

XHTML am not sure but for CSS you have pleanty of tools and ways to test it.

Generally the CSS classes are coded in a way that it can accomodate some changes to the screen resolution as well as browser resizing. so change both and observe the UI of your web page if its distorted its not been coded properly.
If you want to become a bit more adventorous I would recommend you to use a tool to play around a bit with the UI of any web page.

I would suggest Firebug which is a add on for Firefox if you are using firefox. If you are using IE then you can always use IE Dev Toolbar, this is also an add on for IE and both of these are freely available on the net.

Since supratim already mentioned Firebug add-on, I would also like to recommend the Web Developer Toolbar in Firefox. It gives many functionalities that are useful for testing such as a ruler, resizing the browser, validation showing form elements, etc.
