hi ,guys. I have a question and need some one give me a tip.
I was checking a link in a website and found out that the link was working well and the content of the page displayed well under Internet explore 6.0 or high. However when I tried it by using Firefox 3.0.1 , the content of page was shown on disordered. So I want to know what should I report this bug? to be functional? or compatibility bug?

I would suggest you to file it as compatitbity issue if your objective is crossbrowser testing and Client has said that it should be tested with firefox. This can also be called as cosmetic issue if functionality is working and UI is messed up.
What is the requirement ?
Does your requirement state clearly on the type of browsers it should work. If the requirements states that the web site should work on firefox, then it is a bug. If it does not state then it is not a bug.
It is better to ask your developers to mention a line at the bottom of the web page stating
"Best viewed in IE 6.0 and above, xxx browser, yyy browser, etc"
This is a GUI issue. First you need to check whether your applpication is suppporting Firefox or not, IF this supports what was the expected fire fox version that your aplication is certified. If you are in the Browser compatability testing then you can log a defect saying that "content Alignment is not proper in firefox". Before you log this issue, I would also suggest you to verify this on firefox 2.0, then you can log a defect by observing the behaviour in firefox 2.0
I would suggest you to refer the functional spec or requirement documents before raising this issue in your defect tracker. you have to confirm whether browser compatibility specification is given in the requirements or not?
It is definitely a compatibility bug that has been under cross browser testing but which needs to be filed as a bug according to your requirement document. It is a bug only if ur client is particular about Firefox browser and otherwise it is not a bug to care about.
